Document deadline: Feb. 3, 2027

The Accelerated Option is paused at both the ³§³Ù.&²Ô²ú²õ±è;´³´Ç³ó²Ô’s campus and the Western Regional School of Nursing for Fall 2027. We will not be accepting applications to the Accelerated Option at any of our campuses for this intake.

Priority for admission is given to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. Out-of-province and international applicants are also encouraged to apply.

Applying to the Western Regional School of Nursing

If you select Grenfell Campus on your application, nursing will not appear as an area of interest. To apply to the Western Regional School of Nursing in Corner Brook:

  • 1. Choose the ³§³Ù.&²Ô²ú²õ±è;´³´Ç³ó²Ô’s campus.
  • 2. On the next step of your application, select the Western Regional School of Nursing as your first-choice site.

Four-Year Option requirements

Required courses

  • Biology 2201 and 3201, or equivalents
  • Chemistry 3202, or equivalent
  • Math 3200 or 3201, or equivalent

If you completed grade 11 and grade 12 biology, grade 12 chemistry and grade 12 math in high school, you don’t need to take these subjects at the post-secondary level for admission. If you didn’t:

  • Biology: the biology courses must be completed as a pair, either both in high school or both at the post-secondary level. If you didn’t complete both grade 11 and grade 12 biology, you must complete two introductory post-secondary biology courses.
  • Chemistry: if you didn’t complete grade 12 chemistry, you must complete an introductory post-secondary chemistry course.
  • Math: if you didn’t complete grade 12 math, you must complete an introductory post-secondary math course.

Courses you have completed that are equivalent to the program’s non-nursing courses at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ can also be considered. See Transfer credits below.

Course completion date

All required biology, chemistry and math courses must be completed by July 31, 2027. If any will still be in progress, email the Undergraduate Nursing Admissions Coordinator at nursingadmissions@mun.ca.

Admission average

To be competitive, you should have an average of 70% or higher. We use whichever is higher: your average from one semester in the calendar year before the year you’re applying for (with at least three courses completed), or your cumulative average.

Required documents

  • Post-secondary transcripts: official transcripts from every college or university you have attended (see below).
  • High school transcripts: official transcripts, if you completed your biology, chemistry or math requirements in high school rather than at the post-secondary level.
  • Personal statement: optional. You’re welcome to include one, but it isn’t required.
  • Proof of Indigenous ancestry, if applicable.
  • References: requested only if needed. The Admissions Coordinator will contact you directly.

Sending your transcripts

Send a current official interim transcript by the application deadline, Jan. 20, 2027. Once your academic year is complete, arrange for your final official transcripts to be sent too.

All official transcripts must be sent directly from your institution to the Office of the Registrar, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University. Learn how to submit official transcripts.

Transfer credits

Once your application is received, the Nursing Admissions Office will automatically complete a transfer credit evaluation to determine whether you meet the program’s admission requirements. Only the required biology, chemistry and math courses, and the non-nursing courses, are evaluated.

If you are admitted and want to look into your transfer credits or have more courses evaluated, contact ÐÓ°É´«Ã½â€™s Transfer Credit Office at transfer.credit@mun.ca.

Admission decisions

Admission decisions are emailed to your MUNmail account, so set up your MUNmail account as soon as you can. Check your junk mail folder too, in case the email is filtered there.

Entry-Level Competencies

If you’re considering a nursing career, review the Entry-Level Competencies carefully. They set out the expectations for safe, competent nursing practice.

Every student admitted to the BScN (Collaborative) Program must continue to meet the to remain in the program. These were formerly known as the Requisite Skills and Abilities under the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL).
