LPN Bridging Option
The LPN Bridging Option is an admission pathway into the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Collaborative) Program for licensed practical nurses who are currently licensed by the .
Applications are open for May 2027 LPN Bridging.
Application deadline: Jan. 20, 2027
Document deadline: Feb. 3, 2027
How it works
- 1. Complete the bridging semester
The bridging semester begins each May at the in ³§³Ù.&²Ô²ú²õ±è;´³´Ç³ó²Ô’s. - 2. Move into Year 2
After the bridging semester, you continue directly into Year 2 of the Four-Year Option. Subject to seat availability, you may complete the program at the Centre for Nursing Studies, the Western Regional School of Nursing in Corner Brook, or our sites in Gander, ³Ò°ù²¹²Ô»å&²Ô²ú²õ±è;¹ó²¹±ô±ô²õ–W¾±²Ô»å²õ´Ç°ù and ±á²¹±è±è²â&²Ô²ú²õ±è;³Õ²¹±ô±ô±ð²â–G´Ç´Ç²õ±ð&²Ô²ú²õ±è;µþ²¹²â.
When you apply, select the Spring semester (not Fall) on your ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University application.
If you would also like to be considered for Year 1 of the Four-Year Option, you must submit a separate application.
The bridging semester
The bridging semester includes:
- HUBI 1430: Biochemistry for Health Professionals
- English: three credit hours in a Critical Reading and Writing (CRW) designated course
- Bridging course, offered at the Centre for Nursing Studies

Academic requirements
You must complete these courses before the bridging semester begins:
- Biology 2201 and 3201, or equivalents
The biology courses are a pair and must both be completed at the same level, either both in high school or both at the post-secondary level. For example, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½â€™s Biology 1001 and 1002 meet this requirement. - Chemistry 3202, or equivalent
Any one of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½â€™s Chemistry 1010, 1011, 1050, 1051, 1200, 1800, 1810 or 1001 meets this requirement. - Math 3200 or 3201, or equivalent
Three credit hours of post-secondary math meet this requirement.

Required documents
Submit all required documents by Feb. 3, 2027:
- LPN transcript: an official copy, sent to the Office of the Registrar
- LPN licence: a copy of your current licence issued by the NL College of Nurses
- Proof of Indigenous ancestry, if applicable
- References: requested only if needed. The Admissions Coordinator will contact you directly.
Important: it’s the applicant’s responsibility to make sure all documents are submitted by the Feb. 3, 2027, deadline. Applications with missing documents are considered incomplete and will not be considered for admission.
