High School Applicants
Applications are open for Fall 2027.
Application deadline: Jan. 20, 2027
Document deadline: Feb. 3, 2027
High school applicants are eligible to apply to the Four-Year Option of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) (Collaborative) Program. Apply online through ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.
Priority for admission is given to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. Out-of-province and international applicants are also encouraged to apply. All applicants must meet ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University’s general admission requirements.
Admission Averages
Your admission average is based on the six required courses listed below (or their equivalents), using your marks up to the end of grade 11.
Because final grade 12 marks aren’t available when offers go out, every offer to a high school applicant is conditional. The Nursing Admissions Office reviews final grades each June. If your average in the six courses falls below 70%, the Nursing Admissions Committee will revoke the offer.
To be competitive, aim for a grade 11 average of 85% or higher in these six courses. Because admission is competitive, the recommended average can vary from year to year.
Required Courses
The following high school courses, or their equivalents, are required for admission to the Four-Year Option of the BScN (Collaborative) Program:
- Biology 2201
Out-of-province example: Biology 11 - Biology 3201
Out-of-province example: Biology 12 - Chemistry 3202
Out-of-province example: Chemistry 12 - English 3201
Out-of-province example: English 12 - Math 3200 or Math 3201
Out-of-province example: Math 12 - Social Science 3xxx or Modern Language 3xxx*
Two credits at the 3000 level
*If you’re an out-of-province applicant without a grade 12 social science or modern language course, you’ll need an additional grade 12 science course instead, one not already listed above.

Entry-Level Competencies
If you’re considering a nursing career, review the Entry-Level Competencies to make sure nursing is a good fit for you. These are the expectations every nursing student must meet.
Every student admitted to the BScN (Collaborative) Program must continue to meet the to remain in the program. These were formerly known as the Requisite Skills and Abilities under the College of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador (CRNNL).
