Many students use  to help fund their education. The good news is that at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½, lower tuition, student fees, and living costs mean you’ll need less funding overall, helping you graduate with confidence and financial peace of mind.

To be eligible for a Canadian student loan, you must be a Canadian citizen, a permanent resident of Canada or designated as a protected person.

If you plan to , start early so your funding is ready when you need it. Canadian students whose primary residence is outside of Newfoundland and Labrador should apply for  through the government financial aid program offered by their home province or territory.

StudentAidNL works with the Government of Canada to provide student financial assistance to residents of Newfoundland and Labrador. Both loans and grants are available to help you access and pay for post-secondary education. With one application, StudentAidNL will assess you for both federal and provincial financial assistance. Newfoundland and Labrador Tuition Relief Grant Program

The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador has created a needs-based  to offer a maximum of $3,450 per academic year to eligible students. Eligibility for the Tuition Relief Grant will be based on the existing student aid program. The funding will be available to residents who:

  • have graduated from a high school in Newfoundland and Labrador;
  • have enrolled in full-time studies at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University in a bachelor level-degree program; and
  • who qualify for need under the provincial student aid program.
