Alumni Achievement Award
Congratulations to the School of Pharmacy's 2026 Alumni Achievement Award winner:
Dr. Jillian Croke

This year’s Alumni Achievement Award winner is a pharmacist, a preceptor, a certified diabetes educator, a teacher at MUN in diabetes care, a certified and active insulin pump trainer, a pharmacy student mentor for many, she’s active in school councils, as well as being—to use her nominator’s words—a “SUPER mom to two lovely young ladies.” (Dr. Croke's nominator was Keith Bailey.)
Dr. Croke is passionate about advancing pharmacy practice through her longstanding work in diabetes management and care, as well as her work as an educational speaker and insulin pump trainer. Her continuing commitment to educating future pharmacists at ÐӰɴ«ý in diabetes management will have lasting positive impacts on the health of diabetes patients in our communities.
Our Alumni Achievement Award winner is also a new owner of a Shoppers Drug Mart where her leadership of its pharmacy team is contributing to the healthcare of patients in Conception Bay South.
She has been an educational speaker since 2013, delivering sessions in a variety of subject areas with a primary focus in diabetes management. She has been a ÐӰɴ«ý instructor since 2015, teaching many different Pharmacy courses for both our Entry-to-Practice PharmD Program and our Working Professionals Program.
She is a certified Canadian Diabetes Educator and has been since 2011. She became an insulin pump trainer in early 2019, providing training for patients and their families for Medtronic Canada and Insulet Corporation (Omnipod).
She is a member of the Professional Practice Committee, which helps to support members and expand scope of practice within the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. She is also a general member of the Pharmacists’ Association of Newfoundland and Labrador (PANL).
She has many professional qualifications, including having won a Preceptor of the Year Award in Community Pharmacy Practice from the School of Pharmacy in 2012. Also in 2012, she won National Pharmacist of the Year. In 2025, she was a nomination recipient for Go Further Women for Loblaw Companies Limited.
Here at the School of Pharmacy, she has been an interview assessor for our Entry-to-Practice PharmD Program, helping with admissions interviews.
She was also a volunteer community pharmacist speaker at the NL Cancer Care Conference for Women in 2025.
Her nominator also spoke highly of her community volunteer work as a parent representative on the school council of Larkhall Academy where she advocates for the best interests of the student body and communicates concerns from the parent community to the school administration.
For all these reasons, and more, ÐӰɴ«ý University’s School of Pharmacy would like to introduce to you our 2026 Alumni Achievement Award winner, Dr. Jillian Croke.
