EAP provider change
ÐÓ°É´«Ã½â€™s Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provider will change from TELUS Health to GreenShield effective July 1, 2025.
TELUS Health EAP Services will be fully accessible to ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ employees and retirees until June 30, 2025, at 11:59 p.m. Anyone receiving counselling services with TELUS Health as of June 30 can continue with their treatment until natural case closure and will not be affected by the July 1 changeover.
For initiation of any new treatment or service as of July 1, 2025, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ employees and retirees should contact GreenShield. Services will be accessible through using the organization code memorial or via the crisis support line at 1-833-707-4747 (toll free 24/7/365). Information to set up a GreenShield account will be shared on the HR EAP webpage in advance of the July 1 switchover.
To learn more about GreenShield’s EAP and how to access services, orientation webinars specific to ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ have been scheduled for July 9 and Sept. 24. Please click on the date links to register for a session. Additional EAP general information sessions have been booked monthly until December. Please note, these sessions are open to all GreenShield clients and are not specific to ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University. For information on these sessions, please consult the People and Culture calendar.
Similar to the former plan, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ employees, retirees and their immediate family members (provided they are also covered under the university's health plan) will be able to access GreenShield’s EAP services 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
GreenShield EAP services include:
- 5 hours of counselling per policy year*
- 5 hours of couples counselling per policy year*
- 5 hours per work, health and life transition services, including consultations with registered nurses, dieticians, career coaches and more per policy year*
- Unlimited financial and legal consultation
- Access to Indigenous mental health services
- Access to a children's mental health program
- Free self-guided digital cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)
- Access to well-being support
- Access to a personalized care navigation tool
- Access to personalized nutrition
*Policy year for GreenShield EAP services is July 1 to June 30 annually.
Department leaders can also request training sessions on a variety of topics that support employee well-being and development provided by ÐÓ°É´«Ã½â€™s wellness consultant. Please to request training.
The change in providers is a result of an Interuniversity Services Inc. (ISI) market study/RFP where GreenShield was the successful proponent. ISI is a not-for-profit organization that administers volume-purchasing arrangements for member postsecondary institutions throughout Atlantic Canada. ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ benefits from this arrangement through lower costs and enhanced coverage, while still maintaining independence over its own plan.
