SUBJECT: ÐÓ°É´«Ã½’s Health Research Unit celebrates 20th anniversary

Media representatives are invited to attend the 20th anniversary celebrations of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½’s Health Research Unit (HRU), taking place Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 12-2 p.m. at Bally Haly Country Club.
The Health Research Unit, part of the Faculty of Medicine’s Division of Community Health and Humanities, has been engaged in community-based research for two decades. The event features displays of ongoing and past projects, and members of the HRU will be available for interviews.
Doors open at 11:45 a.m., followed by opportunities to view displays and talk to researchers. The guest speaker during the lunch is David Vardy, professional associate with ÐÓ°É´«Ã½’s Harris Centre and former deputy minister of fisheries with the provincial government. Bruce Cooper, deputy minister, Department of Health and Community Services, and Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University, will also be in attendance to bring greetings.
