SUBJECT: The Fisheries and Marine Institute of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University to hold graduation

The Fisheries and Marine Institute (MI) of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½s 2012 graduation ceremonies will take place at the Marine Institute at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 15. Members of the media are invited to attend.
This years ceremonies will feature guest speakers including Keith Hutchings, minister of Innovation, Business and Rural Development, Government of Newfoundland and Labrador; Dr. David Wardlaw, provost and vice-president (academic), ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University, Glenn Blackwood, vice-president, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University (Marine Institute) and a student address by Samantha Strowbridge, nautical science graduate.
Diplomas, certificates and advanced diplomas will be awarded in the disciplines of quality management, food technology, integrated coastal and ocean management, food safety, water quality, marine diesel mechanic, bridge watch, offshore structural steel fabrication, marine engineering, marine environmental, marine engineering systems design, nautical science, food technology, naval architecture, ocean instrumentation and remotely operated vehicles.
Graduates of the bachelor of technology, bachelor of maritime studies and masters degrees received their degrees at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Universitys convocation on May 31.
A live webcast of the graduation will also be available at and and can be viewed on a continuous basis after the ceremony has ended.
The Marine Institute will hold a reception following the graduation ceremony.
