SUBJECT: PSA: ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University to hold vigil honouring women of l’École Polytechnique

DATE: November 28, 2011

Students, faculty and staff will hold a vigil on ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University’s St. John’s campus Tuesday, Dec. 6, to commemorate the 1989 Montreal Massacre and the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women.
The vigil will be held in EN-2006 in the Engineering (S.J. Carew) building and begin at 6:30 p.m. A small reception will be held in the main foyer after the vigil.
The event will be approximately an hour in length and will include a candlelight procession of 14 ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ students representing the 14 women killed in 1989 at l’École Polytechnique in Montreal, Que. Lorraine Michael, MHA and leader of the NDP provincial party, will give a keynote address.
Free parking is available in lots marked 16 and 16A.
