SUBJECT: Industry and government to support new research chair at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University

Dr. Gary Kachanoski, president and vice-chancellor of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University, will host a news conference, Friday, March 18, to announce a significant investment to create a new research chair in the Department of Earth Sciences at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.
Dr. Kachanoski will be joined by Brian Dalton, president and chief executive officer of Altius Minerals; David Robbins, board member of the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada; Glenn Janes, chief executive officer of the Research and Development Corporation of Newfoundland and Labrador; and Dr. Steve Piercey an associate professor in the Department of Earth Sciences at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½.
The event will take place at 10 a.m. in the atrium inside the main entrance of the Alexander Murray (Earth Sciences) building, on Arctic Avenue, off Prince Philip Drive. A reception will follow.
