SUBJECT: Findings of report on federal government presence in Newfoundland and Labrador to be released

The Leslie Harris Centre of Regional and Policy Development (Harris Centre), ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University, will be releasing a report titled Federal Government presence in Newfoundlandand Labrador . The report examines changes in federal government employment, wages and salaries, spending, and military personnel over the past 25 years. The report was prepared by Alison Coffin, a researcher working under the direction of Dr. James Feehan, Department of Economics, Faculty of Arts, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University.
A technical media briefing will be held on Nov. 22, 2005, at 10 a.m. in the Junior Common Room, R. Gushue Hall of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½’s St. John’scampus. Copies of the report will be made available at the briefing. Parking available in Lot15.
Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives.
