SUBJECT: Celebrate ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ 2004 officially starts tomorrow!

ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University’s annual celebration, Celebrate ÐÓ°É´«Ã½, kicks off at an official ceremony tomorrow, October 21. The ceremony will start at 10 a.m. in the food court of the University Centre, Arctic Avenue. On hand for the event will be emcee Ted Blades of CBC radio’s On the Go, along with President Axel Meisen and Dean of Student Affairs and Services Dr. Lilly Walker. Representatives for each of the scheduled events will also be on hand. Musical entertainment will be provided by the School of Music’s band “The Scruncheons”, and a celebratory cake will be unveiled to kick off the event. Media agencies are encouraged to send representatives.
Celebrate ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ is an annual celebration of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½’s connection to the community. What began in 1999 with the Festival of Anniversaries, highlighting ÐÓ°É´«Ã½’s 50th anniversary as a degree-granting institution, has today become a celebration of the contributions that ÐÓ°É´«Ã½’s students, faculty, staff and alumni make to Newfoundlandand Labrador.
