STUDY IRISH IN IRELAND FOR THE SUMMER SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY
Each year the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, ÐÓ°É´«Ã½, selects up to two Canadian Students who are eligible to travel to Ireland to attend a summer school in Ireland. Details of the school are available online at www.icuf.ie . These scholarships are co-awarded. ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ awards the student $500 for cost of travel to the study location and the Ireland-Canada University Foundation (ICUF) covers the cost of tuition, board and shared accommodation for the duration of the course. The awarding of the scholarship will be based on a recommendation from the Dean, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Candidates with a record of strong academic achievement should prepare and provide a curriculum vitae that outlines the following information:
- Name & Contact Information
- Overview of Education and Training (include grades obtained in courses dealing with Irish content matter)
- Scholastic Achievements (may include scholarships, awards, and bursaries)
- Non-Scholastic Achievements (may include athletic awards, leadership, volunteer awards)
- Work and Volunteer Experience
- Travel Experience
- Other areas as deemed appropriate by the applicant
Additionally, please provide a statement (no more than 500 words) outlining why you would like to study the Irish language in Ireland. All ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University students are eligible to apply; however preference will be given to students pursuing a program of study in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences who have familiarity with the Irish language.
