The Frecker Spring Program

About the Program:
The Spring Frecker Program is a 4-week long immersion program in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon. During this program students complete two ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University French courses at an accelerated pace (French 2300 and French 2900) while living with a French family. Classes in Saint-Pierre take place at the Francoforum, a specialized teaching facility, and are supervised by a Director appointed by the Department of Modern Languages, Literatures and Cultures. All travel and accommodation arrangements are made through the Francoforum.
Prerequisite:
The prerequisite for admission is successful completion of French 1502 with a minimum mark of 65% or permission of the Head of the Department, following written application. Selection for the program is on a competitive basis and takes into account both results in French courses and general university standing.
Program Cost:
The program's operating costs are covered in part by the funding from the Federal-Provincial Agreement on Official Languages in Canada and from ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Participants will be required to pay the regular ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University tuition and fees associated with registering for two courses (French 2300 and French 2900). There will also be a program fee of approximatley $1,500*. This fee will cover transportation to and from Saint-Pierre, room and board, textbooks, participation in cultuiral activities and excursions organized by the Francoforum.
