Ally Reid Takes 3rd Place at Illuminate 2024
Congratulations to Ally Reid, a Computer Engineering student, for winning 3rd Place ($1,000) and the Community Choice Award ($500) at Illuminate2024! Ally’s project, Clay by Ally, is a handmade polymer clay jewelry business featuring colorful accessories that reflect playful personalities.
With her prize, Ally plans to expand her business: “I plan to spend this money to expand my team. This winter term, I am looking to hire a marketing specialist, and these awards will greatly help me to do that," she said.
Illuminate is the ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ Centre for Entrepreneurship's initiative which showcase and supports innovative ideas led by women and gender-diverse students at ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University. It is an inclusive program that incorporates skills development, networking and mentorship, and culminates in a live pitch competition.
