Coast Lines: Alumni Book Club
Coast Lines has been developed to encourage ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University alumni and friends to connect through a common love of reading and of literature from Newfoundland and Labrador.
The art deco-style rugged coastlines in Coast Line's visual identity represent a contemporary take on the nature, culture and economy of a changing Newfoundland and Labrador. This approach will reinforce that our province is a rapidly changing place that is not merely focused on traditional stories of times gone by, but an increasingly diverse province home to a variety of people from a variety of backgrounds. This in turn echoes ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University’s focus on inclusion and diversity.
The book club will also reinforce the importance of lifelong learning for ÐÓ°É´«Ã½ University alumni, and recognize the role of ÐÓ°É´«Ã½â€™s hugely successful creative writing program based in the Department of English, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. The program has played and continues to play a key role in the development and in the careers of Newfoundland and Labrador writers, most of whom have either graduated from the program or participated by taking classes.
